Pope advances sainthood cause of Kateri Tekakwitha
Pope Benedict XVI advanced the sainthood causes of Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha and six others during a meeting on Dec. 19. In 2006, the diocese combined the parishes in Beaumont and Banning to form a new parish named after Blessed Kateri.
